Through our journey around the world we searched for those places and collected them for you. Restaurants, museums, canny streets, can festivals – there are many places and I’m sure you will love them all! So may I present to you: 5 hotspots for can lovers that will make your heart bounce like crazy!
1. Restaurants that Serve Canned Food
Wait, what? Restaurants that serve canned food? Yes! And their costumers love it! We found some canny restaurants all over the world. The Quimet in Barcelona, the Tincan’s in London, The Can The Can in Lisbon, just to name a few, are some of our favourites. And Germany’s first sardine bar in Berlin, the Sardinen.Bar is worth a visit, too.
2. Can Museums Around the World
If you’re not only a can lover but also a history lover we have some great places for you! In Massachusetts you can find the Beer Can Museum in East Taunton, which has a collection of over 5,000 different beer cans. The best place to be in London is the Museum of Brands, Packaging, and Advertising. And next stop: New Zealand. There’s the New Zealand Beer Can Museum in Galatea. They have over 12,000 beer cans from 150 countries all over the world.
3. Let’s Take a Walk Down Cannery Row
Cannery Row made Monterey, California the “Sardine Capital of the World” many years ago. Today it’s a tourist attraction with several restaurants, monuments and museums exhibiting how life and industry used to be back in the days. So if you’re there, you should definitely check out the museums, to see how industrial canning was done a hundred years ago.
4. The Darwin Lion’s Beer Can Regatta
Let’s go Down Under! A small group in Australia’s Northern Territory created a competition by combining two of the best things: drinking beer and not throwing trash out. The Darwin Lions’ Beer Can Regatta is an annual event that has developed into a festival for can and boat lovers. It’s exactly what the name implies: a regatta with boats compiled of beer cans. And the best part about it is: everyone can participate.

New York has always been a hot spot for new and innovative concepts. One of these is now coming to London. New York’s Genuine Liquorette: a bar where you can drink your cocktails out of a can!
