Yayyy, finally it’s summer time again: BBQs, friends, good food (lots of it, please). But what if you don’t have any recipes to make some fabulous dishes for your best friends? Well, here’s my answer!

What Do You Need

  • 500 grams minced meat
  • 1 onion
  • 1 can maize
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • ½ iceberg lettuce
  • 1 package crème fraîche
  • 150 grams grated gouda
  • 1 package nachos
  • 1 bottle salsa sauce


What Do You Have to Do

First you should brown the minced meat with the finely chopped onion. (Important information: Don’t forget the cool down part. If you want to serve the salad in the evening, you should start the cooking at noon). Always – and I really mean always – it is necessary to season the meat with enough salt and pepper or any other spices you like. At the same time, mix the maize, beans and the salsa sauce in a bowl. Let it steep whilst the meat is cooling. After that it’s time for layering your salad in a bowl (I prefer glass bowls so everyone can see and admire the different layers). At the bottom of the bowl you put half of the cooked minced meat, then half of the beans-maize-salsa-mix. Repeat it. And now you can put the lettuce, cut in small pieces, on top of it. When the bowl is almost filled, it’s time to put the crème fraîche on top. Then it’s time for the grand finale: crumble the cheese on the crème fraîche layer. Crumble the nachos into small bite sized pieces and arrange them nicely on top of your salad. Et voilà, it’s done and now it’s time to shine in front of your friends!
