How did it happen that this year is already over? I remember sitting on my bed on New Year’s Day writing a list of resolutions for the upcoming year. “Sustainable living, healthier food and more creative projects” were my main goals for 2018. Looking back, I can say it went really well! Okay, the point with healthy eating is still expandable, but what can I do – I just love to snack. 🙂

We have also taken up these subjects again and again on the on the blog and on Facebook I took up these subjects again and again – cans are simply true all-rounders and fit to (almost) every topic. Before we enter the coming year with new fresh ideas, I would like to take a trip down memory lane today and share my Cans for Life highlights 2018 with you. Let’s get started!

Chickpeas Snack

Just now I was talking about healthy food – this recipe definitely helped me to save several bags of chips. The roasted chickpeas are great for nibbling at a movie night. Mhh I guess tonight I am making myself another portion.

Chickpeas are always a good idea, don’t you think? 😋 We like them as hummus, love them in salads and adore them lightly seasoned as our new favourite movie night snack. Taste them, and you’ll see! 😉

Canny Restaurants

Let’s stick to the topic: I really enjoyed researching for this blog article. I was amazed how many different restaurants around the world use cans – from Barcelona to London to New York. Here you can find my Top 5 again.

DIY Wine Rack from Tin Cans

One of my favourite DIY projects this year was definitely the wine rack from tin cans. It’s super simple to make, looks good and is also useful! I recently made two more – both my mother and my best friend were thrilled when they saw the wine rack at my house. So the Christmas present was quickly chosen for the two of them.

Charity Organisation Cans for Kids

What I also remember this year is the charity organisation Cans for Kids from Cyprus. I came across it by chance while zapping through the television programme and was directly thrilled by the idea of the project. They collect and recycle cans and use the money to provide medical care for children at local hospitals. So inspiring!

Tips to Drink more Sustainable

Since at the beginning of the year I had set myself the goal of living more sustainably, I was very eager to see how I could transform my everyday life suitably. Over time, I was amazed at how many aspects of life are connected to sustainability. Many people may think about saving electricity or cycling more, but have you ever thought about how to drink sustainably? In this blog post you’ll find some inspiration.

I could keep this list going forever! But now it’s time to move on. I’m looking forward to many more cool stories and DIYs around cans in 2019.
